These visualizations were created for the Cope Evans Project, a digital exhibit created by Haverford College, regarding the Cope and Evans families. All of the visualizations draw from the same dataset, created by Anna Smith, the 2022-2024 Anne T. and J. Morris Evans Post-Baccalaureate Fellow. The dataset does not include the letters themselves, rather relevant data such as author, recipient, origin, destination, and date. Some preprocessing was necessary, which will be discussed in detail in the relevant sections. All preprocessing was done with Python, primarily with the Pandas library, with the visualizations themselves being created using various JavaScript libraries.
